You Can Take Your Time
I read this post on Instagram the other day: "If God spent 6 days to create the world, then you can take your time."
Whew.
The God who spoke light into darkness, who hung the stars in place, who could have made a thousand earths with a snap of His fingers, chose to build the world over 6 days. Not because He needed the time, but because He chose it. At the end of each day, He paused, looked at what He had made, and called it good. There's got to be a lesson in that, no?
Slow is not the same as behind. God took His time, and so can you.
Often, we measure our worth by how quickly we reach the next milestone: the relationship, the healing, the clarity about what comes next. We look at others' timelines and feel the panic that we are somehow late. But the Creator of the universe modeled something different. He worked with intention, rested in what was finished, and trusted that it was enough.
If God did not treat it as a flaw in His design, why do we treat it as a flaw in ours?
Whatever you are building right now, whether it is a career, a family, a ministry, or a healthier version of yourself, you are allowed to build it in stages. Some days will be for laying foundations that no one sees, and some days, like the seventh, are for rest, not as a reward for finishing, but as part of the rhythm itself.
Have you felt the need to speed through milestones in your life? Do you feel behind or that what you're doing is not enough? Sis, it's time to retreat with the Lord and give yourself grace. You are not behind; you are right on time.
Prayer
Lord, You are never in a hurry, and never late. Forgive me for the times I have measured my life against a clock You did not set. Teach me to work faithfully, rest fully, and trust Your pace. Help me see the "evening and morning" of each day as enough. Amen.
