The Armor Of God

Scripture: Ephesians 6:10–20

This is how we stand against all the enemy’s attacks. Verse 12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

This is a key reminder of why we don’t wage war the same way the world does. Our physical battles are fought first in the spiritual realm, and then the victory manifests in the physical.

PUT IT ON
• Belt of truth
• Breastplate of righteousness
• Gospel of peace
• Shield of faith
• Helmet of salvation
• Sword of the Spirit

Why is this necessary?
• You are a soldier for the Kingdom of God. Just as a soldier in today’s world is dressed and prepared for battle at all times, we also must be spiritually armed at all times.
• This armor is put on by feeding our spirit with the truth of God’s Word, walking firmly in obedience, sharing the Gospel, and trusting in Jesus Christ.

Only when we overcome temptation in the spiritual realm can we see that victory play out in the physical realm.

Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for this revelation of Your Word. May Your presence go forth with us in all we do today. Please help us to remember to put on this armor daily, and may we see the battle ahead clearly. Give us strength to persevere and grace to run through the days well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
