Living Reverently In A Temporary World

“If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in reverent fear of Him and with profound respect for Him throughout the time of your stay on earth.”
1 Peter 1:17 AMP

As children of God, we are both deeply loved and held to a high calling. 1 Peter 1:17 reminds us that while we enjoy the closeness of calling God “Father,” we must also remember that He is a holy and just Judge. This doesn’t mean we live in fear of condemnation, but in awe of His holiness and with a desire to please Him.

The world around us often encourages comfort, ease, and compromise, but Peter calls us to live as “exiles,” people who know this life is temporary. We’re passing through, heading toward an eternal home. So every choice, every word, and every action is an opportunity to live with purpose and reverence.

Practical Application:

Begin each day by asking: “Does my life reflect God’s holiness?”

When faced with temptation or apathy, remember: God sees with love, but also with clarity.

Live today as someone who belongs to a different Kingdom.
