Build With God

Happy New Year, family!

This is your reminder to slow down and take time to invite God into your dreams, goals, and ambitions.

Like clockwork, a new year comes around, and we rush to compile a list of all the things we want to change and achieve. More often than not, God is brought in at the end of the process, rather than the beginning.

God doesn’t want to be a second opinion. He wants a seat at the table from the very start. He desires to be part of the ideation, to co-labor with us, and to build alongside us.

1 Corinthians 3:9–17 says:

“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ…”

While this passage speaks specifically about ministries being built, it should also serve as a mirror for how we build our own lives. We are called to build on the foundation of Jesus Christ with care and intention, trusting that the quality of what we build will withstand the test of fire.

May we live with the confidence that when God looks upon the work of our hands, He will say, “Well done,” knowing we stewarded faithfully what He placed in our care.
